LeBron James’ slip-up on X seems like an instance highly unlikely but not implausible. For, even the King can find himself in a pickle where X-Men is considered. The latest in the animated series by Disney+, X-Men ’97 is a revival of the previous series titled, X-Men: The Animated Series. It last ran from 1992 to 97. The series ended with the death of the leader of the superhero team, Professor Charles Xavier, better known as Professor X.
X-Men ’97 premiered its first two episodes on March 20 to much fanfare and eager anticipation. And it seems like LeBron has also hopped on the X-Men train. His excitement and enthusiasm for the series were on full display when he took to X to inquire about the third episode’s release date. With a slight blunder.
“@DisneyPlus talk to me. When does the next episode drop for X-MEN 27?? I need it ASAP. SO GOOD!!!“

In James’ eagerness, he ended up asking for X-Men 27 instead of ’97. Hilariously enough, Disney+ tried a subtle approach when they replied to the Lakers superstar that new episodes drop every Wednesday, using the ‘X-Men 97’ hashtag. While comics and Marvel enthusiasts might find this error a bit on the offensive side, they might just let it slide because of his obvious passion for the series.
Just three days ago, the 20x All-Star posted a question to his 52.8 million followers on X. He asked them where he could watch the new animated series of X-Men, sharing the fact that he loved the series during his childhood. And he did get the name right. Clearly, the mistake in the above post wasn’t ignorance, just good old desperation. But it isn’t just LeBron James who loves Marvel. They love him back.

ESPN The Mag and Marvel had turned LeBron James into a comic book superhero
When ESPN and Marvel shook hands on bringing more creativity to The Magazine, no one expected a 15-page comic book insert based on LeBron James. A comic book fan since his younger days (his favorite superhero being Batman), this was quite the honor. The comic was titled LeBron King of the Rings.

Talking about getting the superhero treatment, LeBron said, “I think it’s pretty cool.” It definitely is cool! Bron was depicted as a superhero trying to fulfill his famous promise to the Miami Heat – winning seven titles. In the comic, the 4x champion learns how to levitate, create bionic legs, use magic tricks to distract opponents, and clone himself enough times to fill out the NBA roster.
Anyway, with James professing his love for X-Men, there is no doubt that their viewership is going to go through the roof. Not that they need it. The animated series is already a success. But Disney+ doesn’t seem to say ‘no’ to LeBron James’ endorsement on a given opportunity.
