The Denver Nuggets winning championship wasn’t something anyone predicted. Not even the fans could believe it when the historic moment happened. But what really caught the public and media’s attention for a long time was how they got one over the Lakers in a 4-0 sweep. Shaquille O’Neal has come forward with claims to know what’s on The King’s mind and shares thoughts on the upcoming season.

With the regular season just around the corner, the Nuggets had been a little too involved in trash talks against the $5.9 billion franchise, Lakers.

Shaq is certain that LeBron‘s ultimate goal is nothing short of record-breaking. Talking to SportsCenter on ESPN, he says, “He already has the most points, so he’s passed up Kareem. He wants to take it to where the record will never be broken for the next 67 years. I know exactly what he’s doing.”

Not surprising, given how driven the man is and everything he’s achieved so far. But, for now, the Lakers are going to be focused on getting that title back. Like Shaq says, many, including himself, want the Lakers to win. And if they are going to be champions, they will have to beat the champions. There is nothing more to it.

O’Neal urges Lakers to give an answer to the Nuggets’ coach

The trash talks against the Lakers haven’t deterred their confidence or the fight. LeBron James promptly took to Instagram to give a well-deserved answer to his former coach, Michael Malone. “Enjoy your light but just know I’m the SUN. I stay on forever!”

Surely it must have at least given Malone a nasty sunburn, wouldn’t you agree? Anthony Davis is also on the same page as LeBron on this one. Malone used media day to announce their commitment to repeating last season’s achievements and leaving the past behind. There is only so much you can do about tooting your horn, right?

Shaq also seemed to agree with Malone’s reasoning. Though he wants the Lakers to win the title, Shaq hasn’t downplayed the Nuggets’ capability. Last season saw Denver doing what they had to do. And they reaped the benefits. LeBron and Co. have also mentioned on multiple occasions that they only have respect for the Joker and his team.
