Is Miko as strong as Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant?
In the latest episode of Gil’s Arena podcast, Miko Grimes criticized Anthony Davis’ fitness level stating, “He really needs to strengthen his entire body”. To which Gilbert replied, “All of them guys are in the gym every day,” emphasizing that strength is not about looking big and strong. Out of the blue, she threw a sort of challenge, claiming that she could deadlift as much as AD.

She then added, “He looks like a noodle when he plays,” sparking even more disagreements inside the panel. “Some people’s bodies are like that like KD does not look strong,” Gilbert tried to reiterate his previous comment using the Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant as an example. Grimes mentioned that athletes recover faster when they stay “in shape”. So, she expressed her belief saying Davis and Durant failed to recover fast at times as they were not doing something important to increase their strengths. By the end, though, the panel agreed on one thing. For Davis to become the fresh face of the Lakers, he must keep himself injury free.

Is Anthony Davis ready to step up?
With a long-term extension, the Lakers’ management has made it abundantly clear that they see him as a valuable asset for the future. Despite his undebatable greatness, the Lakers cannot always depend on the 38-year-old LeBron James, and sooner or later he will have to pass that role onto Davis.
