The Memphis Grizzlies registered their first win of this NBA season against the Portland Trail Blazers. In a convincing victory of 100-112, the Grizzlies evidently showed grit and determination. They are trying their best to show the world that they can get back to winning ways, and make redemption.
However, the first six games’ loss did affect them. In such a tough competition, having lost six in a row usually sets a team back. The Ja Morant-less squad looked baffled on the court. Fans too wanted Morant’s suspension to be lifted. After this, the popular sports journalist, Stephen A. Smith took a dig at Ja Morant. What did he say?
‘Ja Morant was not thinking about his teammates”

Smith chiefly accuses Morant because of his suspension. The 24-year-old is reportedly banned for 25 matches due to the Firearms Act. He carried revolvers on two occasions on his Instagram live. Formerly he was excused with an eight match suspension. But on the second occasion, the NBA authorities decided to invoke a stern punishment.
Smith took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and criticized Morant for his selfish acts. He said that Morant should be ashamed for his act, that led to this for his team.

“If Ja Morant was on the floor, we wouldn’t be thinking about them like this,” he said. Smith further added, “Is he off the court because he’s injured? No, is he off the court because of some kind of family emergency or some kind of tragedy that took place? No. He’s off the court because he wasn’t thinking about his teammates when he was on the court.”
Smith continued, “How that work out for him now? It’s all right to love somebody and be pissed off at them for getting in their own way.”?He questions that if it makes any sense that there are 30 teams in the NBA and the winless one had Ja Morant in it.

The Grizzlies comeback win against the Portland Trail Blazers
In the game against the Trail Blazers, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane put up an amazing show. They scored 27 and 30 points respectively, which sailed the Grizzlies. Bane netted an 18-footer which received abundant praise.
Can the Grizzlies make a massive turnaround after losing six games at a stretch? The way they played last game, with the addition of Ja Morant, will it take them long?
