However, when it comes to their daughter who once played basketball had to quit it because of particular reason in the childhood.
Steph’s sister Sydel instead played volley ball in her college, just like her mother. Importantly, Dell Curry considered her to be a better shooter of the ball. Nonetheless, she didn’t leave out basketball out of her life after the childhood story. The 28-year-old entrepreneur married Phoenix Suns player, Damion Lee. The couple recently welcomed their second child Daryn Alicia Lee into the world a few days back.

Charlotte Hornets (which was formerly know Charlotte Bobcats) legend Dell Curry recently featured in a podcast interview discussing various affairs about his basketball career and his kids. During the interview, he revealed the reason why his daughter Sydel didn’t take her basketball career forward, despite her promising shooting skills. He added, “She was arguably at that time just as good as Shooters as my boys.”
Before opening up about her shooting skills, he also shed light on the particular moment when she decided to drop basketball. He added, “I remember her coming home from practice one day and I was like, honey what’s wrong, she’s like, Dad I got some bad news.” Sydel continued, “I don’t think I want to play basketball anymore.”
On the other hand, Father Curry being the good dad that he has always been, supported his daughter’s decision. After the 6th grade basketball season, Sydel left basketball and made volleyball her main sport.
Even though she left basketball, she still held on to the sport by marrying the Suns star. Moreover, in the last few months, she interacted with her strong social media following about mental health and pregnancy mental health.

Days after the birth of her second child, Daryn Alicia, she took to social media to introduce her to the world. Following her post, Steph’s wife Ayesha Curry reshared the post on her IG story and wrote, “Baby girl you have completely melted our hearts and our world.”

Sydel and Ayesha have been business partners for a long time. The duo recently merged their wine company, Domaine Curry with a major wine brand, Constellation Brands.
