The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a disappointing loss at the hands of the Sacramento Kings. An overtime loss is always a tough pill to swallow. And if that wasn’t enough, then Kings guard Malik Monk shoving his clutch play in the face of Anthony Davis to ‘light the beam’ for the Kings was the final nail in the coffin.

The Los Angeles Lakers lost the game to the Sacramento Kings in overtime with a 132-127 final score. And a lot of the credit goes to a player on the Kings’ bench, Malik Monk.

After the game, Malik Monk had the opportunity to talk about his performance. He was asked to give his thought process on the clutch three-pointer he hit that sparked the Kings’ run late in overtime.

Monk said, “To hit it and yell in AD’s face. Right in his face, right in his face.” When asked about how he felt about winning against his former team, Monk went on to add, “It’s good. Especially with AD. He talks a lot.”

“Bron, those are my vets, man. They taught me a lot when I was over there but it’s always good to beat them.”

That is when Malik Monk stepped up, scoring 11 points in overtime. He not only helped carry the offense but also managed to find a few of his teammates for some open shots to put the game away.

Monk came off the bench and took over the game in overtime. As for the Lakers, a great performance by both Anthony Davis and LeBron James ended up getting overshadowed by Monk’s heroics. Hopefully, Fox returns to the lineup with no serious injury and the Kings build on this win.
