The Detroit Pistons could not put an end to their misery tonight. Cade Cunningham and Co. lost their 28th consecutive game after falling to the top-seeded team in the East, the Boston Celtics. After setting the record for the longest single-season losing streak in the last game, the Pistons set another record after tonight’s loss. They are now tied with the Philadelphia 76ers for the longest losing streak in NBA history.

But there was a time in the game when it looked like the Pistons might upset the Celtics and come out with a win. Hip-hop star Metro Boomin hysterically mocked the Pistons fans after their team failed to snap their record-breaking losing streak and missed a chance at winning some free wings.

Famous record producer and hip-hop star Metro Boomin added salt to the wounds of the Detroit Pistons fans. After Cade Cunningham and Co. suffered a 128-122 overtime loss against the Celtics, Boomin hilariously trolled the Pistons fans on X. “Ni**as thought they was gon get wings!” the hip-hop star wrote. The tweet was in response to Wingstop’s running promotional offer for the Detroit Pistons fans. Wingstop is offering five free boneless wings for customers who hold a ticket to a Pistons game. But that will only apply to the games that the Pistons win.

Unfortunately for the people in Detroit, the Pistons have not won a game since October 28. And the way things are going for the Pistons, it is getting harder for the fans to get their hands on some free chicken wings from Wingstop.

The Pistons almost gave their fans a chance to avail the offer by sending tonight’s game to overtime, but failed to come out on top.

Who is to blame for the Pistons’ losing streak?

Detroit has a talented team with one of the rising young stars on their roster. Cade Cunningham has played great throughout the season despite his team’s struggles. He is averaging 23 points and 7 assists. But somehow, his team cannot win a single game even with him in elite form. The Pistons also have a former Coach of the Year as their head coach. Monty Williams signed with the Pistons this summer and is one of the highest-earning coaches in the NBA.

Williams led the Phoenix Suns to the NBA Finals in 2021. So, he knows how to win games. But somehow, his strategy is not working in Detroit. It is unfair to blame just one person for Detroit’s abysmal run. It takes a lot of things to go wrong for a team to lose 28 consecutive games, and the Pistons might have to re-evaluate their situation and look for a fresh start to the rest of the season.
