Draymond Green has impressed NBA fans with his exploits on the basketball court. Now and again, NBA celebs and analysts speak to him about his achievements on the field. Few know about it, but Green once had tried his hand at football, and one anchor recently decided to dig up one of Draymond’s embarrassing memories from the game.
Luckily for Draymond, NBA players are pretty thick together. The other NBA star on the podcast quickly rescued Green by adding some lively banter to the conversation.

It happened on the Pat Bev Podcast with Bev, where Draymond Green has earlier given an explosive quote about his fisticuffs with Jordan Green. But after that, the conversation veered up to Draymond’s time on the football field. Rone, who was co-anchor of the podcast, had a query, “What made you think that you could play football?”
While Draymond was about to answer the question with a smile, Patrick Beverly quickly swatted in with, “Drey, while you answer that, he is an a*****e sometimes.” Rone continued, “I saw the footage of the spring game. They had you lined up at tight end. No one made a call, and you made a sprint of ten yards, a false start.”
Draymond then revealed something interesting for his fans – he revealed why he chose basketball over football.
Draymond replied, “I am gonna tell you what happened. I played football until my first year of high school. I was growing and they were chopping me. Like, I was playing tight end, and they were chopping me.”

Dray continued, “The basketball tryouts started right after the football season. Bro, when I tell you I couldn’t run up and down the court for basketball tryouts like my knees were hurting so bad. And so, in turn, I was six feet, six feet and a half, six one, and my knees were hurting so hard I couldn’t run. So, I was like, yea, that’s it. I am not playing football no more.”

Draymond, of course, has come a long way from the tryouts for any sport and is one of the most popular NBA players of his time. He plays for the Golden State Warriors, and his fans are waiting for him to make his presence felt this season.
