With the postseason coming closer with each game, the Miami Heat approach a “familiar place”. Which place? One might ask, well, it’s of course Jimmy Butler’s conversion into his playoff alter ego, ‘Himmy Buckets’. Last year, Bulter flipped a switch to guide Miami through the tricky waters of the playoffs to the NBA Finals. However, Butler was only able to do so with players like Tyler Herro on his side. As of now, the Heat are in a similar place, holding the 7th seed in the east, with their five-game win streak halted by Nikola Jokić and his team.

However, this time around,  Miami Heat must figure out a way to not get stopped right at the finish line. That will only be possible with a healthy roster and key players such as Tyler Herro returning in good shape. He has missed the last three games with an injury, the looming question right now is his availability against the Utah Jazz tonight as the Heat prepare to battle
them at home.

According to the latest post by Ira Winderman’s post on X, “Heat injury report for Saturday vs Jazz: Out: Josh Richardson (shoulder), Dru Smith (knee). Questionable: Tyler Herro (foot), Kevin Love (heel), Caleb Martin (thumb), Haywood Highsmith (knee). Cole Swider and Jamal Cain back from G League. Also, Herro said foot actually was the problem, and not a new injury.”

The team is monitoring Herro’s availability for the upcoming match, and assessing his condition daily. An official update on his status is anticipated following the morning shoot-around, underscoring the team’s cautious approach to his readiness.

Will Tyler Herro return tonight?

The MRI results on Herro’s hyper-extended left knee revealed no major injury, suggesting a probable quick comeback for the guard. Before the All-Star break, Tyler Herro’s appearances for the Miami Heat were limited to just 36 out of 58 games due to various health setbacks. His playing time took a hit in November when an ankle injury kept him off the court. Upon his return, subsequent shoulder troubles and migraines further kept him sidelined, causing him to miss two additional games.

During a critical moment in the game against the Pelicans on Feb. 23, Tyler encountered a mishap. While maneuvering the ball against strong defensive pressure, he accidentally slipped, leading to hyperextension of his left knee as he lost control of the ball. Clearly in pain, he grabbed his knee and remained on the floor, visibly distressed. So, can the Heat take on the Jazz and win without their Sharpshooter to nail the seamless three-pointers?
