The star duo Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler created massive waves in the last season, storming their way into the Finals. While Butler took home the praise for his athleticism and clutch ability, Adebayo asserted his domination on both ends of the court. Playing in his seventh season, with two Finals experience, the 6 ‘9 tall Miami Heat star revealed the player who is the most unguardable in the league in a recent podcast.

The Heat emerged as the underdogs through the course of the 2023 postseason. Stepping into the Playoffs as the 8th seed, they fought their way into the Finals series. They took on the mighty top-seeding Denver Nuggets which had both size and shooting skills to sweep the series. And, eventually, the Heat lost the series in a 4-1 record. Six months after the series, Adebayo revealed his pick for the unguardable player.

Featuring in the latest episode of The OGs alongside Heat legend, Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, Bam Adebayo discussed plenty of ball and at one point, Miller asked him about the most unguardable player in the league. Adebayo instantly replied and named the Denver Nugget franchise spearhead Nikola Jokic without a second thought.

He said, “The Serbian. The Joker… The thing that I like the most about him is, he don’t flop… He not trying 16-17 free throws. No, he trying to get buckets.”

UD also backed Adebayo’s take with a hilarious reason. He said, “That sh*t is not real, man. He don’t jump. He don’t run fast. You can’t speed him up. You can’t move him,” leaving the rest in the panel in splits.

Rightly so, the Nuggets star’s stats also backed the Heat players’ take. In the last season, he racked up an average of 24 points per game with a career-high FG of 63.2%. He continued to repeat his dominant play this season as well, competing against Joel Embiid for the MVP race.

However, Adebayo’s comment on the star not flopping came hours after the Dubs’ head coach Steve Kerr’s strong statement after the Christmas game.

Steve Kerr on Jokic’s 18 free throws

The Golden State Warriors visited the Nuggets on the Christmas Day game and ended up losing a close 120-114 game. During the game, Nikola Jokic struggled with 33% FG but managed to score 26 points with 18 FTs. Unimpressed with the officiating, Steve Kerr addressed the issue in a post-game press conference.

He said, “If I were a fan, I wouldn’t have wanted to watch the second half of that game… It was disgusting. It was just baiting refs into calls.”
