“He is a Funny Dude”: After Bringing Out His Dance Moves With Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard Gets His “Fun Guy” Tag Endorsed By Paul George

Kawhi Leonard is a meme favorite. A lot of people call him a robot, has a dry personality, and then a few more synonyms. The fact of the matter is, no one really knows what he is like. The few people who do know would completely disagree with the popular version. One of them is Paul George, the Clippers’ forward.

Unlike many players, Kawhi is not on any social media platforms. So, the number of wild theories is, well, wild. What everybody who knows him personally can attest to is that Leonard is a “funny guy”. They may not have any specific stories to share, but that’s just Kawhi for you. He is a fun dude!

Paul George speaks about Kawhi Leonard’s personality

Unlike many, Paul George does have a few things to back up his claims of Kawhi being a “funny dude”. Talking to Taylor Rooks, PG clears up the air of the so-called mystery surrounding Kawhi.

“I think people don’t realize like he is as normal as possible, and he’s a funny dude“, he says. “He’s as normal as anybody else … he actually talks a lot, like when you get to know him.” 

Teammates for five years now, the duo hit it off right away. Their friendship goes beyond the court. Shared interests and having kids almost the same age have strengthened their relationship. It’s safe to say that this deep understanding helps their on-court chemistry.

Kawhi Leonard is just “naturally funny”

We all know how Kawhi keeps his personal life as personal as he can. So, to get anything of real value, all we can do is look up to his closest friends and teammates. In a special Clippers episode on Podcast P, Terrence Mann and Paul George share more stories about Kawhi. His deadpan reactions and straight-faced jokes are a part of him. It’s what makes him The Klaw. In PG’s own words, “He’s just a naturally like, funny dude.”

Just 3 days before Paul George gave us a real understanding of Kawhi, the viral video of him dancing with Beastbrook had fans in an uproar. When asked about the dance, Kawhi spoke the longest ever on something that can be called “personal”. Of course, it was in his classic ‘I-couldn’t-care-less’ face. But anyone who has been following The Klaw for some time will know every word he said was heartfelt.

All the jokes aside, Kawhi is also the Clippers’ star player. 2x NBA champion and 5x NBA All-Star, his ball-hawking skills are top-notch. When the 4x NBA All-Defensive team member, Paul George, joined the Clippers, the pair proved to be crucial for the organization. Though we are yet to see some real damage the two can inflict, their bond will remain strong. And, maybe tomorrow’s preseason game could give us a peek into it. What are your thoughts?
