“He Didn’t Say It back….I Cried My Way Home”: Wife Ayesha, Who Rejected Stephen Curry’s First Kiss, Got Her Heart Broken After Cupid Struck Her First Before Marriage

Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry have been married for over 12 years. Standing the test of time, Steph and Ayesha are one of the most popular couples in the sports world. The 4-time NBA champion has known his wife since they were teenagers, and they tied the knot in the summer of 2011. Knowing how things have turned out for the power couple, it would be safe to think that Steph and Ayesha have never had a dull moment.

But there was a time at the beginning of their relationship when Ayesha bawled her eyes out because Chef Curry did not reciprocate the same feelings to her future wife.

Ayesha Curry reveals the time Steph made her cry

In a 2017 episode of the Ball Girl Magic podcast with Ros Gold-Onwude and Yvonne Orji, Ayesha revealed how she realized the Warriors legend was the right person for her. The couple started dating in their early 20s, and according to Ayesha, “Everything just progressed very naturally.” Steph was Ayesha’s first-ever boyfriend. That led to her expressing her feelings to Chef Curry first, “I told him I loved him first.”

But the 9-time All-Star did not reciprocate the same feelings to Ayesha. “He didn’t say it back.” she added. Even though Steph’s response upset his future wife, she appreciates him for not saying the words without actually meaning them. Steph had a huge explanation for Ayesha as to why he did not say “I love you” back, “I don’t wanna just say it because you said it. I wanna really say it and mean it.” Ayesha believes because of her husband’s honesty it meant even more when he did say “I love you” to her. But that did not stop Ayesha from getting upset the first time Steph did not say it back, “I cried my way home.” She revealed.

Ayesha Curry rejected Steph’s first kiss

The strong relationship between Ayesha and Steph had a rough start. While Steph did not reciprocate the same feelings as her future wife, Ayesha also turned down the NBA superstar’s attempt at a first kiss. While on a date, Steph tried to sneak in his first kiss with Ayesha, but she turned him down, unsure about the situation.

Despite a shaky start, things turned out pretty great for the superstar couple. They have been married for more than 12 years and are parents to three beautiful children, Riley, Ryan, and Canon. With their bond getting stronger each day, it is not likely that Steph and Ayesha will face the kind of insecurity they did at the beginning of their relationship.
