In the seven games that the Suns have played so far in the season, Booker has already missed out on five. If he misses 12 more games throughout the season, he won’t be eligible to make it to the All-NBA team. In order to understand this, we first have to know that each season, every team plays 82 games.

That means a player will also have to show up for those number of games. According to the NBA rules, each player must at least play 65 games in order to be eligible for the All-NBA team or other end-of-season awards. Well, it looks like Booker will now have to tread carefully, moving forward into the season. Otherwise, he will miss out on the prestigious NBA honor.

A series of unfortunate events for Booker

In terms of injuries, Devin Booker has had it bad this season. After suffering a toe injury late in the preseason, he had to undergo another hurdle when he sprained his ankle playing against the Golden State Warriors during his season debut game. Following this, Booker had to miss three games and was able to make a brief comeback to the court during the Suns’ second game against the Spurs. However, he soon suffered a right calf injury that made his recuperation even more difficult.

However, Booker’s performances in the two season games that he has played are nothing short of extraordinary, dropping 31 and 32 points each against the Spurs and the Warriors, respectively. As he recovers from these unfortunate maladies, let us hope that this will be the last of them, because Kevin Durant could really use some help right about now.
