The Charlotte Hornets had been quite active in the trade market before the deadline came around. We saw Terry Rozier being shipped off to the Heat a few weeks ago. In another move, they moved Gordon Hayward to Oklahoma. Now, with less than 24 hours left until the deadline, we are witnessing the Hornets’ third trade move. A fresh deal comes in the form of the franchise letting go of their forward PJ Washington in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks.
In exchange for the 25-year-old star, the Hornets are getting Grant Williams, Seth Curry, and a first-round pick. The news of the trade was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic in a recent Instagram post, “Charlotte is trading PJ Washington to Dallas for package around Grant Williams, Seth Curry and a first-round pick, sources tell The Athletic and Stadium.”

The Hornets would be Seth Curry’s favorite team
For a young Seth, seeing his father play for the Hornets made a huge impact on his life. As a little boy, he wanted to follow that path and always dreamt of playing for the team. Seth had previously stated as much during an interview with Greenville News. “You always think about it. Growing up a Hornets fan, watching my dad play, you always think about one of us wearing that No. 30 Hornets jersey in the modern eras,” the 33-year-old guard said.

Today, Seth has fulfilled that dream for the Curry family. Further expressing the depth of his love for the team, the younger Curry brother had also said that if he wasn’t playing in the NBA, Charlotte would have been his favorite team. “I’ve always loved the Hornets. If I wasn’t in the league that would be my favorite team.” Seth had also once said that another goal of his is to be teamed up with his brother Steph. Well, that is yet to be seen.
