Expressing the same emotions in the presser, Michael Porter said how embarrassed he was after the defeat. Also, he said that the victory had brought much-needed satisfaction. “We got embarrassed on national TV the other night. We wanted to redeem ourselves.”

With the win, the Nuggets have a 27-13 record while as Pelicans have a 23-16 record. Jokic was the man of the moment. he scored a 12th triple-double of the season. And Porter was all praise for his teammate, “We know (Jokic) can do that, but we are still amazed when he does. Nikola pretty much has eyes in the back of his head. He can see the floor at all times.”

Jokic was brilliant but other players too put in the effort. Jamal Murray scored 20 points, 9 assists, and 2 rebounds in his 34-minute play. A. Gordon and R. Jackson added 15 and 12 points each. For the New Orleans Pelicans Zion Williamson was at the top slot with 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. J. Valanciunas chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist in his 26-minute play. L. Nance Jr. and CJ McCollum added 13 and 12 points respectively. But the rising from the ashes alone was not the main theme of the game. Jokic’s stunts on the hardwood too were the center of attention.

Nikola Jokic’s crafts memorable moments

Jokic was good enough to pile points for the team. But he was more interested in doing it in style. He scored the dunk in a typical Shaq style during the game that evoked the memories of the Knicks vs Lakers clash in 1999. He pushed the opponent and jumped to dunk while pushing the opponent away with his sheer strength.

And Malone was more interested in drawing historical comparisons about Jokic head turning pass, “I didn’t imagine the behind-the-back, over-the-head pass. When you’re a young kid watching NBA basketball, that’s Magic Johnson, that’s `Pistol’ Pete Maravich, the guys that just had this pizazz to their game. Nikola can beat you a lot of ways and that was definitely one of the best passes I’ve seen him make.”
