Jrue Holiday became an instant loot as soon as he got traded out of the Bucks. It was just a matter of time before he flew away from Portland to a contender. Now that Jrue Holiday is a Celtic, many voices that have worked in the background have come to the fore. Giannis Antetokounmpo?s teammate, who had won a championship with him, is one of those people that wanted Jrue to go to the Celtics.

Jeff Teague was a Celtic before he joined the Milwaukee team. Though he played only one year in Boston, his connection with Jayson Tatum seems to be quite strong. In the Club 520 podcast, Jeff describes how he appealed to Jayson Tatum regarding Jrue Holiday. He literally told Tatum to ?Go Get Jrue.? And sooner than anyone could imagine, Jrue found his way to the team against which he had battled many seasons.
The Celtics gave up Robert Williams III and Malcolm Brogdon, along with two first-round picks to get Jrue Holiday in their team. And in their earlier trades, they parted ways with Marcus Smart and Grant Williams. Did they give up too much for getting Jrue on board? As of now, he seems to be a net positive, who covers a lot of key areas for Boston. Definitely, he is a superior upgrade in terms of guard skills, and he can defend just like Marcus Smart, or if not better. But Grant Williams and Robert Williams III were the tough guys who brought size into the picture. With the injury history of Porzingis, can the Celtics put him on the paint as a rim protector? Or are they going to rely on Al Horford more? These are the issues that Boston needs to address soon.

Then there is the? 76ers team, which is embroiled in the James Harden Dilemma. Hence, as presently constructed, it leaves only two genuine contenders; the Bucks and the Celtics.
