After having missed the mark in a pivotal game against the Denver Nuggets, Anthony Edwards threw a little fit as he exited the arena. In today?s episode of Gil?s Arena, the former Agent Zero, Gilbert Arenas, dug a little deeper into the incident.
?As the crew replayed the incident at a foot pace, they unanimously realized that Edwards was simply just trying to move the chair in a spin. While the foot of the chair grazed the bystanders, it was not a feat worth imposing a $50,000 fine. However, Arenas regretfully admitted that this was just ?the bare minimum? the league now demands and bitingly accepted Edwards? fate.?

As a frustrated Anthony Edwards walked out after the Timberwolves-Nuggets showdown, he spun a chair out of his exit path. This was reason enough for the NBA to give him a $50,000 slap on the wrist. The 2023 NBA All-Star was cited after the game and a police investigation commenced as the minor feat allegedly hurt two bystanders.??
On Gil?s Arenas, the host crew replayed the incident and expressed their true feelings about this chair-hoopla. As a matter of fact, Gilbert Arenas, too, had a history of run-ins with the league. Back in 2009, Gibby took a bet and entered the Washington Wizards‘ locker room with four unloaded guns. For this, Gibby was suspended by the league for the next fifty games.?
No harm, no foul
Considering this piece of history, Edwards? chair-fling incident seems trivial. Arenas commented, ?Who got hit?? to which Miko Grimes snidely replied, ?Nobody and somebody acted like they died.? Arenas didn?t think that Edward?s feat was a big deal or that he deserved to be fined. ?It?s not like he threw it. He picked it up, put it down, and kept it moving.?

However, Arenas wasn?t too mad at the league either. He thinks, ?What?s $50,000 today? To them, it?s like five grand.? For the Ant-Man who just signed a blockbuster $260 million extension deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, this fine was probably inconsequential.?

Arenas, who opined that the fine was unnecessary, found some relief with this modest punishment. In fact, the crew scoffed at the league for being a little ?cheap.? Do you think Edwards was worthy of this slap on the wrist? Let us know!
