The Milwaukee Bucks clinched a marginal win against the Philadelphia 76ers in their opening game. The scores went 118-117 in favor of the Bucks. Really close, isn’t it?

Damian Lillard ran a rampage on his debut game for the Bucks, scoring a scintillating 39 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. The superstar duo of him and Giannis Antetokounmpo impressed everyone, as per expectations. Giannis too scored 23 crucial points, along with 13 rebounds and 3 assists. Thus keeping the Bucks’ expectations alive for the remaining season.

‘The Letter Bro’ went further in the post-match conference and warned the league. If the duo clicks consistently, the Bucks are undoubtedly the championship favorites.

Bond With Damian Lillard

In a video uploaded by the ‘House of Highlights’ on YouTube, Giannis opens up on various factors. The interviewers asked what made his connection go spot-on, at this point. They even asked what made Damian Lillard understand in his Bucks debut, that Giannis was going to pass the ball to him.

Giannis replied that the team’s winning matters chiefly to him. He went further to say that it is the duty of players with hot hands to make the pass to those working for it. It was Lillard at that point, so he made the pass to him and would have done the same if it was Chris or Malik working, said the big man.

“He’s got to build that trust you know, he has to know that whenever he has the hard hand down the stretch, we’re going to find him and we’re going to give him the ball for him to operate, to make plays for himself, and to make plays for the team,” said Giannis. “And that’s what he did tonight, that’s why we were able to get the win.”

Bucks’ Run In The League

Antetokounmpo was asked about his assignment of marking Joel Embiid. Embiid was fantastic today and Giannis was given to slow him down by Bucks coach Adrian Griffin. Despite being a power forward and playing mostly in center roles, Giannis has no problem in guarding opponents as well. He hints of playing as a guard in this season, as per requirement.

Giannis was reportedly not happy at the end of last season and hinted about leaving the Bucks. The blockbuster Lillard trade convinced him to stay. Needless to mention, the arrival of Damian Lillard reduced Giannis’ workload to a great extent. It would be disappointing for the fans if they cannot do well in the league this time.
