Indiana Pacers had a field day against the Milwaukee Bucks during the IST semi-finals. In a shocking turn of events, Tyrese Haliburton overthrew Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Bucks 128-119. It was truly a stunner for everyone gathered. From spectators to analysts, everyone was blown away by how the Pacers outscored the ‘Deer State’.
Haliburton is in a league of his own. Scoring 27 points, 15 assists, and 0 turnovers, the 23-year-old is already on his way to making history. Indiana’s victory over the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks itself is a feat that will be remembered for a long time.

Talking about the loss, Giannis has a Vegas-inspired quote for fans. “Sometimes the dice don’t roll your way,” he had tweeted after the game. It could also be an attempt to water down the unpredicted defeat. Everybody knew that Indiana was getting a complete makeover on the arrival of Haliburton. But no one imagined they were on par with title contenders.

Dice-rolling is indeed an art that has to be perfected. The same can be said of basketball. Both need preparation and luck. There is also a lot at stake in both. For the Bucks, it was a terrible blow. They were sure of their spot in the Finals. But this NBA season has been one with surprises at every turn.
So while it shouldn’t have surprised us, especially given how Tyrese has rallied his Pacers, to see the Giannis-Dame duo outsmarted needs a moment or two to sink in. Just goes on to show the kind of leader Haliburton is growing to be.

That isn’t to say that the ‘Badger State’ didn’t put in any effort. Giannis featured a double-double with 37 points and 10 rebounds. Damian Lillard followed with 24 points, seven rebounds, and assists. Middleton and Lopez were close behind, scoring 20 and 18 points each, respectively.
Unfortunately, even their fourth-quarter rallying wasn’t enough to beat a determined Pacers. This time, though, Indiana’s bench shined throughout. With a combined plus 62, the Hoosier State’s reserves gave Milwaukee’s backups (minus 46) a run for their money. Coach Carlisle of the Pacers is in solid agreement, “Our bench really was the difference in today’s game.” Haliburton took a step further by dubbing them as “one of the best benches in the NBA, if not the best bench in the NBA.” If they keep this up, the Pacers will continue to grow and take off.
They will be facing the formidable Lakers for the Finals. Even though LA started off rocky, these past few games have seen them getting it together. So it will be a close match. Will Tyrese be able to catch LeBron James and co. off guard?
