Giannis Antetokounmpo has been on a roll in the last few days. He recently broke the Milwaukee Bucks‘ franchise record for most points scored in a game with 64 points. Following that, in tonight’s game against the Houston Rockets, he broke another record, this time leaving Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the dirt. Even after having a milestone night, he didn’t restrict himself from setting his next target, his own teammate.

The Greek-Nigerian baller has always proven to be a competitive player both on and off the court. The star’s recent act of retrieving the game ball from the Pacers team after dropping his career-high score stands as proof. However, on tonight’s occasion, even though friendly, he went up against his own teammate for a challenge.

During the intense Sunday night battle, Giannis Antetokounmpo broke the record for the most number of rebounds by a Bucks player by defeating the legend Abdul Jabbar with 7165 rebounds. Jabbar, who had been the Bucks’ franchise leader for a long time until Giannis donned the green jersey. He surpassed Jabbar’s overall points scored and recently beat the franchise high-score.

The only record that is left for Greek Freak to break is the all-time franchise three-point record, which is currently held by his 32-year-old teammate, Khris Middleton.

However, Giannis doesn’t seem to leave that record behind, as he took to his Instagram handle and took a friendly swipe at Middleton. He shared a picture of himself attempting a three-pointer with the caption, “Hey @k_mid22, I’m coming for 3’s next.”

Even though it’s difficult for the star to catch up with Middleton’s 1281 three-pointers, Giannis challenged the star after the game. He currently stands in the 7th place with 504 3-pointers with an average of 0.6 three-pointers per game.

Let’s find out what Middleton has to say about Greek Freak’s challenge.

Middleton-Greek Freak banter

Following the game, a friendly conversation between the stars was shared on social media. When Middleton was asked whether Giannis would beat his three-point record, Middleton reportedly had a stern response. He said, “Hell nah. Hell nah. Now he’s got everything… except for the three ball.”

Immediately, Greek Freak reportedly responded, “It might take me 20 years, but I’m gonna get it.” On an important note, the duo seems to have forgotten the existence of Damian Lillard.

Lillard has dropped 2,462 three-pointers so far in his career, and he could easily beat Giannis Antetokounmpo if he continues to play in the Milwaukee franchise.
