It is often possible that superstars of the game overshadow upcoming stars in the league. Especially if it is LeBron James, everyone’s attention naturally falls over the Akron Hammer because of his domination on the court. However, four-season-old Paul George once grabbed the attention of Stephen A. Smith over the superstar with a kind gesture. Incidentally, the veteran NBA analyst recently narrated the wholesome incident from 2014 Playoff in an interview.

PG-13 played his rookie season for the Indiana Pacers in the 2010-11 season. The star had his breakout season during the 2013-14 season, where he averaged above 20 points for the first time. Eventually, he led the team to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat. Unfortunately, the Pacers couldn’t get past King James & Co in the series. However, George’s sweet gesture, even after losing the series, found a place in A. Smith’s heart.

This isn’t the first time where A. Smith has taken a dig at LeBron James on interviews. Whenever there arises a GOAT debate between Michael Jordan and King James, the veteran analyst lunges forward to attack the superstar. Moreover, in the latest episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show, he took a sly dig at the Lakers superstar while appreciating Paul George.

After a 30-minute long interview with PG, A. Smith went solo for a while to talk about the star. He reminisced a PG-13 moment from 2014 Conference Finals series. He registered that his sister is a bigger fan of PG than him and revealed the reason as well. Smith added, “He gave an autograph one day when LeBron refused to do so… My thanks to one of the nicest Brothers in the league.” 

Furthermore, he even added that his sister would make cookies to George if he wanted to her.

Did PG-13 rock the following season?

Just like everyone else, Paul George also expected to put in the gained experience in 2014-15 season and make it bigger. Unfortunately, the star sustained a major injury in his right leg and almost missed the entire season. Moreover, the Pacers’ couldn’t even qualify to the Playoff. They ended their season at the 9th seed. However, for the upcoming 2023-24 season, all eyes are set on the Clippers team as Kawhi Leonard, PG and Russell Westbrook return to the court in full fitness.
