43 Days after Dillon Brooks Picks Ryan Reynolds Over Him, Drake Disses at $80 Million Houston Star in the Latest Album

Dillon Brooks has accomplished what many people can only dream of, to be featured in a Drake song. The Houston Rockets‘ defense machine has pulled this off, although not for the reasons one might think. Brooks managed to single-handedly gain the attention of the multi-platinum rapper for a choice he made some weeks ago.

Sports media company Overtime shared a post on their page. The post consisted of a series of slides that clear the air on how Brooks made it to Drake’s lyrics. The first slide showed a collage of Drake and Brooks’ pictures, and read, “Drake name drops Dillon Brooks in new album?”

The second slide of the post shows an excerpt of the first few lines from Drake’s song ‘Another Late Night’ featuring Lil Yachty. Drake comes in hot in the second line of the first verse of the song, which is from his latest album ‘For All the Dogs’. The line reads, “Shawty ran some Dillon Brooks, can’t believe this **** talkin’, damn.” Who knew that one simple decision would backfire and come to haunt the 27-year-old who recently clinched a $80m deal?

Sop how did everything happen? Well, to give some context, the Canadian baller and his other teammates were asked to choose their favorite Canadian from Drake and Ryan Reynolds. And…you’ve guessed it! The 27YO picked Ryan Reynolds over Drake. What makes it funnier is that a nonchalant Dillon Brooks was the only player from the team who picked Ryan Reynolds.

This might have made the rapper take note, as he decided to voice out his emotions in public. However, fans have a different take on the entire angle.

Fans are siding with Dillon

Captioned, “Drake def seen the video of Dillon Brooks picking Ryan Reynolds over him ?”, the post’s last slide shows the video evidence of Brooks committing the ‘unthinkable offense’. This had actually happened precisely 43 days ago, and Drake must have held on to his grudge up until just a few hours ago when the song was released.

But fans in the comment section sided with the Houston star on his pick.

One commented, “Ryan Reynolds all the way.”

Another fan wrote, “Ok. But….picking Drake over Deadpool is foolishness.”

Some fans humorously called out Dillon for his tendency to lean towards trolling, “Dillon just loves being the bad guy lol.”

Regardless, there appear to be no hard feelings on either side. Drake most probably did not mean any harm by it and did it all in jest. Dillon Brooks, too, seemed to be cool with it as he hasn’t shared anything on this yet. However, knowing Brooks, we can be sure to expect a witty and mostly indifferent response.
