It’s a rare sight for parents to see their children choose to devote their lives to the very same profession that he/she did. LA Lakers star LeBron James is fortunate enough to find that not only in one but two of his children. While his eldest son has been in the headlines these past few months over his NBA aspirations, LeBron’s younger son, Bryce, has also been seen making waves during his time in high school. But as fans recently got a glimpse of the same, they allegedly chose to criticize him in the same way that they have judged Bronny James.

A few hours ago, the official Instagram account of @ballislife released a video of Bryce James, with the official mixtape of his junior year playing in the background. Throughout the aforementioned clip, the 16-year-old could be seen showcasing his athleticism by making various jaw-dropping shots and often dunking over his opponents. The highlights compilation placed the player as a force to be reckoned with, as he seemed to be continuously unstoppable and doing his best to help out his team.

Since its release, the post has received over 27,000 likes, including one from LeBron James. Other viewers reacted by taking up the post’s comment section. One of them felt that despite all the highlights shown in the video, Bryce had not done much to warrant his mixtape. A fan proceeded to write, “This is funny, he didn’t even do s**t this year (crying emojis)”. Many other users followed the same theme.

One of them remarked “He’ll be a Senior already?? Yall comments and media treat this kid like he’s a 5 (star) with 25plus offers that’s also same size as his daddy but in reality he just a regular 6’5” SF all conference HS player”

A couple of individuals made their opinion clear that Bryce is not good enough to deserve such an honor by leaving comments like “I miss when you had to earn a mixtape”“Brah show the stars on the team not a bench player” etc. Some chose to draw up a comparison between the high schooler and his elder brother by writing “bronny was better at his age but bryce is taller so he can improve more and get better”.

The comments for Bryce may not be all roses and petals, but he is not LeBron’s James first son who has been scrutinized for his basketball skills. Since Bronny James came into the spotlight, he has reportedly been placed on a pedestal with his father and criticized when he can’t reach the same stats. The criticism has only increased in light of his underwhelming performance with the USC Trojans.

Where would Bronny James’ brother be heading next?

LeBron James himself never went to college. However, he is ensuring that his children get the opportunity to not only carry the tag of a reputable university but also carve out a path to the big leagues through its equally reputable basketball team. While Bronny has already committed himself to the University of South Carolina and is in the process of completing his first year there, Bryce has yet to make an official NCAA commitment.

For the past few months, speculation has arisen that LeBron may be looking to send his youngest son to Ohio State. These rumors became more apparent after Bryce received an offer from its then-head coach back in October 2023. It was only a week ago, when reports started to make the rounds of the internet that LeBron was allegedly willing to make a “large monetary donation, in the millions,” if the university hires Florida University’s HC Brian May as their own. While this speculation has since been squashed by the latter, it remains to be seen whether Ohio will be the place for Bryce.
