Things are out of place for the athletes in the James’ family lately. The Los Angeles Lakers are holding to their hopes of making the playoffs this year. Moreover, Bronny James’ USC tenure questions his NBA entry, dampening James’ ultimate desire to play alongside his son. However, Bryce James continues to climb the charts.
The 16-year-old has recently been selected for Team USA Men’s Jr. National minicamp. The 65-player list was released today by USA Basketball, consisting of players from the Class of 2025. 2026 and 2027. With that, LeBron James, in light of his younger son’s achievement, took to Instagram. Reposting @usabasketball’s post on his story, James wrote, “Congratulations on your selection” while tagging Bryce.

Bryce was part of the 85-athlete pool invited for the Minicamp held in October last year. With that, the latest invitation is not an exclusive feat for Bryce. However, it resonates a sizeable climb in his professional journey, especially considering the rising talent within the country.
The Minicamp will take place from April 4 – 7, exposing players to scrimmages and on-court drills. Honing the crafts of the 65 players from all across the nations will be a roster of 15+ coaches. The event will hope to shape a player on and off the court with multiple educational programs revolving around a player’s NCAA eligibility and development of life skills.
On the final day of the Camp, players will be granted an open floor to showcase their learnings and skillset through multiple scrimmages. Moreover, in order to promote and imbibe camaraderie, the players will also attend the Saturday’s night’s NCAA Final-Four thriller, slated for the Arizona stadium.

Bryce James might be better than Bronny James?
While Bronny’s NBA journey poses significant challenges for the 19 year old, notions about Bryce overshadowing his elder brother have taken a rise. Over a year ago, NBA Insider Brian Windhorst claimed that, when it comes to talent, Bryce is better than Bronny. Furthermore, he also put forth a higher ceiling for Bryce James, when compared with the eldest.
“What it does seem like [Bronny] has a chance to do is play in college for multiple years and then, potentially, make the league as somebody who can be an athletic, defensive guard who can shoot threes… “ he says. While Windhorst has a respectable voice in the NBA, his speculations rise from the years of watching and scouting both brothers.
