During his podcast, the former NBA star compared Curry’s aura with another NBA legend. Without demeaning Curry’s contribution to the game, Gilbert Arenas pointed out how the other ‘icon’ surpasses the former’s ability to draw an audience.

Not to mention, the other legend is none other than the Michael Jordan. Gilbert, in the interview, speaks about how Jordan was far more influential in his days. He reportedly shaped the structure of basketball, to the world. He quoted, “Everybody thinks they can be Steph, everybody wanted to be Jordan. Overall Michael Jordan was the standard of what to be an NBA player was. Michael Jordan made us want to be basketball players.”

The former Wizards star explains how he was afraid to step into Jordan’s shoes. But they risked their lives anyway to have that.

However, Curry too revolutionized the sport in his own way. Widely regarded as the best shooter ever, he inspired players to fetch more three-point shots. His journey from being a nobody to an absolute legend of the game is inspiration for many. He did not even top his initial draft. As a matter of fact, people had low expectations from him.
