The NBA has seen its fair share of great players, but very few can compete with the greatness of the “Chosen One”. LeBron James has dominated the league for the better part of the last two decades and he isn’t looking to stop anytime soon. LeBron will begin his 21st season as an NBA player and is still one of the best in the league at the ripe old age of 38.
King James will look to further cement his legacy as the greatest of all time by winning his fifth NBA title. The very first hurdle he faces in his conquest is against the reigning champs, the Denver Nuggets.

LeBron James is set to embark on his 21st NBA season as he faces the Nuggets on October 24th. LeBron will become just the sixth player in NBA history to reach that mark. NBA legends like Vince Carter, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kevin Garnett have also achieved this milestone. The Nuggets should be wary of LeBron’s incredible scoring prowess on the opening night.
Over the last twenty seasons, LeBron has accumulated a total of 512 points in his season openers, averaging 25.6 points per game.
LeBron’s worst performance in a season opener came in 2007 when the Cavaliers faced off against the Mavericks. King James recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists while playing for 36 minutes. Whereas, LeBron’s best performance in a season opener came just 2 seasons ago against the eventual champions, the Golden State Warriors. During that game, he delivered a remarkable stat line of 34 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists in 37 minutes of playing time.

Can LeBron James win his 5th ring?

Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are injury-prone players and one must wonder what would happen if either one of them got injured.

The Lakers’ championship aspirations would be at risk should either of their star players suffer an injury. For the Lakers to achieve success this season, players such as Christian Wood, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura will need to take responsibility and provide crucial support. With LeBron approaching 39 years of age, there’s a sense of urgency for both him and the Lakers, given that the Lakers’ championship hopes predominantly revolve around LeBron James.
