With the 2023-24 regular season reaching its final stages, the Golden State Warriors find themselves in a tricky situation. They currently languish at the 10th spot of the Western Conference standings. Any slip up could have a detrimental impact on their playoff ambitions, with the Houston Rockets hot on their heels. So, when Draymond Green got himself ejected in just the fourth minute against the Orlando Magic, criticism was bound to come his way.
Stephen Curry was visibly frustrated by Draymond Green’s actions, with images and videos of Curry appearing emotional circulating widely on the internet after Green’s ejection. Despite Green’s departure, the Warriors managed to secure a victory led by Curry and Andrew Wiggins, with a final score of 101-93. However, Draymond’s ejection marred a stellar Warriors performance, and fans of the Warriors made their feelings clear towards Draymond.
During the latest episode of The Game radio show, Bay Area media veteran and host of the show, Matt Steinmetz, stated that Draymond Green “stabbed” Curry in the back because of his antics. He further went on to suggest that Green didn’t want to face the likes of Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. He said, “I think it was operation, ‘I don’t wanna play tonight.’ I don’t want these Banchero problems. I don’t want these Wagner problems. I’m just disappointed and the win was marred… They (his teammates) might smile and hug you, but you stabbed them in the back again.”
