With the second win in the home opener, the Phoenix Suns took their fight against the Utah Jazz. Although the franchise was maintaining a lead in the first three quarters, the defense fell short in the fourth quarter.

The highlight of the game was not the 126-104 score by the end of the fourth quarter, but the “New Ring of Honor”. It was a night dedicated to the former players and Hall of Famers. Arizona is indeed enjoying the night, with the Arizona Diamondbacks securing a win as well.

The former Suns player and the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets (2020-2022), along with 60 other former players, were invited to the Footprint Center tonight. The now NBA analyst for TNT-cum-studio pundit, Charles Barkley, also graced the gathering.

Well, Matt Ishiba introduced an improved Ring of Honor, greeting all the former Phoenix players. Welcoming them to half-court and embellishing their power play career with special watches amounted to a major event tonight.

In the post-game interaction with the media, Kevin Durant made sure to praise the records set by the former greats of the Suns. He said, “Every arena I go into, I tend to look up and look at all the past greats, the banners, the rafters…  And you know, you know, playing for the Suns, I want to be a part of that, you know. And those people inspire me with what they did for this organization and for this city. One god damn and representing just like they did.”

He also mentioned how Matt Ishiba is doing a great job by bringing everybody back in. Making this organization more of a family seems to be the end goal for the franchise tonight. However, by setting the records straight for himself and following in their footsteps, Kevin Durant wants to set a great legacy for the team.

Devin Booker had a spectacular season opener with 39 points. However, due to his stiff back, he was ruled out of the game in the last match. With just one pillar among the Big 3, Kevin Durant led the team with a tally of game-highs of 26 points, 7 assists, and an 8-11 shooting average. Marking the third quarter with a 40-point tally, the team made it impossible for Utah to have a comeback.
