The Golden State Warriors’ season is heading downhill after some excellent opening performances. The team just recorded their third consecutive loss tonight, getting outscored 110-116 by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The lead was a close call switching between the two teams in the first two quarters. But after half-time, Minnesota completely dominated the match and took home their seventh win.?

This loss came despite an excellent performance from the Warriors’ point guard Stephen Curry. He put up 38 points with five rebounds, three assists and a steal. However, veterans like Draymond Green and Chris Paul failed to show up.?

Draymond shares his thoughts on the game

Talking to the media during the post-game presser, Warriors forward Draymond Green shared that this was an organizational problem and that the players have to take the blame. He explained, “We?ve got to be better. The NBA is a tough league so it’s a tough matchup every night playing against NBA players. But l like the matchup”. Green further added that they have had some great performances in the past. Therefore, it is not a matter of them trying to figure out the best strategy. Rather, it is about placing their best pieces and each one of them stepping up to the job.?

Draymond also shared the responsibility that he has in the team in getting things organized and working together with Chris Paul. A task which, he admitted, both of them failed in. He pointed out Stephen Curry‘s excellent performance, adding, “It’s on us to realize that and learn how to also use him [Stephen], you know. When he’s got it going, to get other guys looks as well. And so I think that fall on me and Chris and we’ll be better with it”?

The Warrior’s performance so far

During this three-game losing streak, Stephen Curry led the scoreboard for the Golden State. However, the rest of the team did not match up to his efforts. Against Denver, Chris Paul put up nine points with Klay Thompson chipping in fifteen points. In the next game against Cleveland, Chris scored nine again, with fourteen from Klay. Green was only able to put in eight points before being ejected.

In Sunday’s match, the score was even lower, with nine from Draymond, two from Chris, and sixteen from Thompson. If these performances continue, the Warriors’ chances of moving into the postseason will be tough. But with promises from the players and the coach, fans are hopeful to see better games moving forward.
