The Sacramento Kings just secured a 134-133 win against the Golden State Warriors. It was a close call, but the Kings pulled through against the offensively strong team led by Steph Curry. With less than 30 seconds remaining on the clock, Steph had the final possession but was denied any shot by the Kings’ tight defense. Among the star performers was Sacramento’s big man Domantas Sabonis, who recorded the highest assists of the night with 13.

The Lithuanian-American superstar also dropped 18 points and eight rebounds. After the stellar performance, he was confronted by HC Mike Brown during the post-game press conference. Pulling his leg, Coach Brown asks Sabonis if he was distracted at any point in the game which prompts a witty response from the star. But why would Sabonis be distracted?

In a hilarious turn of events, Coach Brown puts on his reporter’s hat and joins the other journalists in asking questions to Sabonis about the game. Sitting beside Sabonis’ gorgeous wife Shashana Rosen, Coach Brown asks Sabonis, “Were you thinking about dinner plans with your wife, with your beautiful wife tonight at any part during the game?” This sends his wife into a fit of laughter while Sabonis, playing it safe, replies, “Um, definitely not.”

Satisfied with the answer, Coach Brown says, “Fair enough.” Sabonis tied the knot with his dancer and model wife Shashana in 2021, after announcing their engagement in 2020. They share two children. After picking on the couple, Coach Brown still has a few tricks up his sleeve as he drops another question, this time, taking a jab at himself.

What was the Coach thinking?

Brown asks Sabonis about teammate JaVale McGee, who got zero game time vs the Warriors, “What about having a teammate like JaVale who thought he was going to play today but is never getting called by the Head Coach, I don’t know what the heck Coach was doing but he just kind of discarded him or kicked him to the curb. How is he as a teammate?” Sabonis jokingly replies that he had to calm JaVele down on the bench.

However, he switches the gears and praises his teammate: “He’s a professional, he stays ready, he knows his role, he came here to help take us to the next step.

The exchange between Coach Brown and Sabonis is a testament to the vibrant dynamic among players and coaches in the NBA.
