Despite having two superstars on their rosters, the Los Angeles Clippers could not make a deep run in the last few years. They have become the poster team for load management, with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George missing almost a season’s worth of games due to injuries. Despite the absences, Paul George has emerged as a fan favorite in recent years with his smooth handles and creative moves. He is a nightmare for defenders to guard when attacking closeouts and acting as a secondary initiator.

However, Paul’s 27YO teammate considers the Dallas Mavericks superstar as one of the toughest players to guard in the league.

During an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, the LA Clippers forward Terance Mann revealed who was the most surprising player to guard. When asked who was one player that caught him off guard with their skills in the league, the Florida State alum stated, “I would probably say Kyrie Irving”.

He further substantiated his choice by adding, “He is really surprising when you are guarding him because he does whatever he wants. There’s no real scout report on him. He is reading with what you’re doing, what you’re giving him, and he’s taking it. So, that’s probably one of the toughest”.

Although Kyrie Irving’s image has taken a hit in recent years due to his off-court antics, he still remains one of the best ball handlers in the league. Uncle Drew’s fluidity with the ball can put the best defenders in trouble.

Meanwhile, Terance Mann has found himself embroiled in the protracted trade saga involving James Harden of the Philadelphia 76ers and the Clippers.

The James Harden trade fiasco is still inconclusive after rambling on for the entirety of the offseason. The Clippers have been at the forefront of the Harden sweepstakes since he demanded the trade in late June. But the talks have stalled for just one reason – the Clippers’ refusal to trade Terance Mann in exchange.

Although the Sixers are ready to adhere to their other demands, including an unprotected first-round pick, a first-round pick swap, and other players to match Harden?s salary, the Clippers are reluctant to trade Mann. They want to save Mann to rope in another star-level player.
