Michael Dunleavy Jr. was lately promoted as general manager of the Golden State Warriors. Being the former vice president of basketball operations, Dunleavy Jr., who is only 42 years old, offers a plethora of expertise to his new position. He has worked in the Warriors’ front office for the last five seasons. With his promotion, Dunleavy takes over for the acclaimed Bob Myers who retired as president and general manager on May 30.

Since taking on his new role, Dunleavy has wasted no time in strategising for the future. And he began his work by getting back Draymond Green on the team.

Dunleavy recently appeared on ‘The Jim Rome Show‘ where he discussed the $100 Million deal: “I think he’s still at a level, especially defensively, where he’s one of the top two or three guys in the league for on a nightly basis, and certainly in a playoff game. So to have that, and then to go along with his leadership, his playmaking, all the stuff that he does, I think that for us, just looking around, seeing it and saying, ? Well if he’s not here, then what?.’?

He continued, ?And so for that reason, we were able to come to terms. I know he wanted to be back, we wanted him back. It just made a tone of sense and we’re thrilled to have him for four more years.?

The Warriors were able to splash a whopping $100 million for a four-year contract around Green. It also includes a player option for his age-36 season. Following the contract, Green continues to be an essential part of the Warriors. However, while doing so, the Warriors let go of Jordan Poole, who had an altercation with Green during the previous season.
