The 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend is going to be a thrilling one for one too many reasons. For starters, let’s get the dates and venue right. The much anticipated weekend is scheduled to be held between 16-18 February 2024 in Indianapolis. To top it off, the fan-favorite NBA All-Star Game will go down at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis on the 18th.
The weekend was designed to be family-friendly, where children will have their share of fun through an array of exciting events and setups curated for them. While they can attend and enjoy the games, there will also be several activities available for them outside the main events. Let’s take a look at some of these awe-inspiring events.
Basketball dinosaurs, NBA 2K alley, and many more!

Dinosaurs with basketballs?
First up we have the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, where the kids will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see their basketball-playing dinosaurs! This has been specially curated by the museum to make the weekend more exciting and fun for the young visitors. But wait there’s more! Entry into the museum will be completely free on the 19th in commemoration of President’s Day.

Kids’ very own basketball game
Scheduled to be on the 18th at the Indiana Convention Center, the Jr. NBA Skills Challenge (9 am-2 pm) invites 13 years and below children to show off their basketball skills. Boys and girls will be divided into under-11 and under-13 divisions, where they will be judged according to their skills based on passing, dribbling, defense, shooting, and layups.
Breakfast with the best!
In the NBA Mascot Breakfast event (Feb 17, 8 am), children will be joined by their favorite NBA teams’ mascots like Buster Bear, Rumble the Bison, and Benny the Bull to name a few. This will be a special themed breakfast where the children will play and interact with the mascots. This will be organized at the Edgar Alleen Poe-loving restaurant in the Union Station.
The main NBA fan event
Gear up to have a blast at the NBA Crossover 2024 event which will be held at the Indiana Convention Center (Feb 16-18). You will get the chance to meet and interact with more than 50 NBA stars who will grace the event. Want to shoot some hoops? You’ll get to do it in the numerous basketball courts that have been set up just for you! There will be live music, selfie spots, and art installations as well.
Google’s special exhibition
As part of the Crossover event, Google will organize an interactive exhibit as part of their drive to promote their Pixel phone. Fans will get the chance to check out their phones, click fake NBA draft pictures, and participate in a wide range of “basketball-meets-technology” activities.

Challenge NBA 2K professionals for a duel
Within the Crossover event will be the NBA 2K Alley (Feb 16-17) at the Indiana Convention Center in their Wabash Room where fans will have an interactive experience. In addition to playing the videogame, fans can eat food, buy special merchandise, and meet special guests. Fans will also get the opportunity to take on pro ‘NBA 2K’ player Ronnie 2K, who is also the face of the franchise.
Get ready for this one: on the 17th, the NBA 2k League Indy Showdown will take place, which will feature the Pacers‘ superstar Tyrese Haliburton along with content creators Dom2K and Pikaaa.
