The Phoenix Suns pulled off the unthinkable against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. The home side trailed by 22 points in the last quarter and the Kings were on track to take home a blowout to win. However, that wasn’t the case. The Suns, led by Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, went on a 32-8 run in the last quarter to pull off a 119-117 win over the visitors.
One might expect the Suns’ players to have lost their hopes before stepping on the court for the fourth quarter, but the Valley side had a different mindset. And the franchise superstar Booker revealed his mindset while producing the magnificent comeback.

The Kings started off the game with a 12-point lead in the first quarter and continued to put pressure on the home side. De’Aaron Fox along with Domantas Sabonis expanded the lead up to 22 points in the last quarter, leaving the Suns in a make or break situation. And the Suns took the highway to take home a miraculous win.
Even though Devin Booker had a minimum contribution in the last quarter in terms of buckets. But he was responsible for keeping the Suns on the hunt. D-Book dropped 29 points with 6 assists. Notably, 4 out of the 6 assists came in the last quarter, setting the stage right for his teammates to pull off the win.
After the game shared a glimpse of his mindset. A reporter asked him at what point he felt the game was “winnable”. Booker, in response, repeated the question and said one word, describing his mindset. He said, “When did I feel like it was winnable? Then,” meaning that the All-Star never lost hope.

The Suns have gone through a lot of ups, and downs in this season, dealing with injuries. Now that the big-3, KD, D-Book and Bradley Beal have returned to the mix, the Suns could reach their peak at the right moment, which is ahead of the postseason.

Book’s aggressive mindset
During the Conference semi-final against the Denver Nuggets, the Suns were already two down in the season. And, no team has ever won a playoff series after going 3-0 in a series. When the Suns’ ring was on the line, Booker stepped up, dropping 47 points and produced the much needed win.

Following the game, when he was asked about his mindset approaching the game, he said, “Just trying to be aggressive, being ultra-aggressive. I understand that opens things up for my teammates when I play that way.”
If the Suns carry the similar attitude, going deep into the season, then Booker can get his hands on his maiden NBA ring.
