Bucking from his natural shooting guard abilities, Devin Booker has fully embraced the point for the Phoenix Suns this season. Remarkably, he has elevated his playmaking, boasting a career-high average of over 7 assists per game; a significant jump from his career norm of around 4. Additionally, Booker has also managed to reduce his turnovers while simultaneously improving his scoring output.

The latest addition to Booker’s accolades came in a standout performance during the Phoenix Suns‘ ongoing game against the Indiana Pacers. On Kobe Bryant’s fourth death anniversary, Booker exploded for 29 points in the first quarter. Moreover, he secured a place alongside Kobe as the only player since the 1996-97 season with at least three career quarters of 28 points or more.

In addition to the feat, Booker shattered his franchise record with the scorching quarter and also matched Joel Embiid for the highest-scoring quarter this season. The Suns kicked off the game with a 40-31 lead as Booker made 71% of his shots, going 10 of 14 from the field. Adding to his accolades, Booker now boasts the most 20-point quarters this season; all achieved in the past eight days.
