In the sport of basketball, the athlete’s height plays a major factor in his performance. Because if he is tall he can block his opponents’ shots easily and even score comparatively easier. However, there were some players who were not very tall but even then made a name for themselves in the sport. Players like Muggsy Bogues who was just 5’3, Damon Stoudamire, Isaiah Thomas, etc. But there is one player who, despite his height disadvantage, managed to leave a mark on the sport of basketball.
Standing at barely six feet tall, Chris Paul has not only conquered the odds but has also become the NBA’s iconic Short King. He displayed a set of talents and tenacity that has left an everlasting impression on the game.

Paul has even given some MVP-caliber performances, especially in the 2007-08 season, when he competed for the honor with the late great Kobe Bryant. He did not win the title, but many argued that Paul outperformed Bryant on complex measures, demonstrating his all-around prowess. Although he did not win that title, CP3 went on to have 11 All-NBA choices, 12 All-Star appearances, and seven All-Defensive First-Team selections.
However, what sets him apart is not only his skill set, but his longevity. Currently, he is 38 years old, the second oldest player in the league, and is representing the Warriors. This resilience reflects his training, basketball intelligence, and persistent devotion to his craft. That is why he is still playing in the league looking for that one thing he does not have on his resume, an NBA title.

How effective is the Point God with the Warriors?
After coming to the Dubs, Chris Paul’s role has changed and now he has limited playing time coming off the bench. He is currently averaging his career low, however, his on-off splits suggest otherwise. When Paul is on the floor, the Warriors have a strong plus-4.4 net rating, compared to a minus-5.5 net rating when he is on the bench.
The five-man rotation of Paul, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevon Looney has been very effective for the Warriors. They are averaging a whopping plus-15.7 points per 100 possessions. This shows that the presence and ability of Paul contribute to the Warriors’ success. So, in a league of giants, Chris Paul stands tall as a source of motivation for aspiring players who feel they cannot make it to the league due to their height.
