The Golden State Warriors are thrilled to have Draymond Green back. Entering the court at full strength will be the Dubs against the Sacramento Kings tonight. Looking to clinch that position to get them a spot in the Quarter-Finals, both teams will be battling it out.

Talking about his five-game suspension and the consequences, Green has a few things to say. He does not regret what he has done. But he does have something to say to his team.

Chris Haynes, live from the court, says that the 4x champion felt there was a need to apologize to his teammates. He explains further as to why the apology was necessary. Seeing as how the Warriors are struggling with shooting and going win-less for a large part, he could have handled the situation better.

Citing Green, Haynes said that the Warriors star understood the team was struggling, especially with shooting, and were “not there on the wins column like we should be”. So that was not the right time to be doing an action like that, Green reportedly said. Clearly, he has a mature outlook on the problem.

It also emphasizes the leadership qualities he possesses. While his immediate reaction may have been triggered due to a protective instinct, the result didn’t or couldn’t take that into consideration. So for him to accept that his actions managed to create a void for his team that was already tethering on unstable ground is self-realization at its best.

But he is still not going to apologize to Gobert. And if anyone thought there was going to be even a minuscule chance of him feeling regret, well, Draymond Green pretty much wiped out any such rumors two days ago.

Green on Gobert’s chokehold and the suspension

Rudy Gobert was the latest to get some “DrayMagic” in the NBA. And while it doesn’t beat getting kicked in the groin, it’s pretty close. After all, cutting off one’s oxygen supply is no joke. Yet Green couldn’t feel any less regretful. Talking to reporters for the first time since his suspension, the 6’6 power forward made it very clear.

“I don’t live my life with regrets,” Dray had said after practice (via ESPN). “I’ll come to a teammate’s defense any time that I’m in a position to come to a teammate’s defense … What matters to me is how the people that I care about feel, first and foremost. That’s it for me.” It sure is. Seeing Thompson‘s jersey being ripped off is what triggered Green to intervene.

Gobert and Green have a history of trash-talking, and on several occasions, the two could be seen trading digs and jabs. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, it’s each man to himself. Sometimes it’s a subtle hint of an embarrassing incident. (read: Snapchat).

Other times, well, it’s outright insults flying from both sides. Anyway, the infamous Gobert chokehold seemed like the final blow to their beef. Hopefully, the Frenchman is not going to retaliate when the opportunity strikes. If he does, well, we are going to be looking at one of the most electrifying beefs in NBA history.
