The Denver Nuggets (51-23) are aiming to snap their two-game losing streak when they meet the Cleveland Cavaliers (45-29) tonight at Ball Arena. Scheduled for 3:30 PM ET, this game marks the second meeting between the two teams this season, with the Cavs emerging victorious in their previous encounter with a score of 121-109. The Nuggets are eager to even the season series tonight and avenge the last game’s defeat. However, securing a win might prove challenging, given the uncertainty surrounding the availability of their dynamic duo, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

Reportedly, the 2x MVP has been dealing with inflammation in both the left hip and right wrist. Jokic’s right hand was seen taped up during the team’s 111-98 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, as per head coach Michael Malone, the Joker “will be able to go today against Cleveland.” The coach has also been in constant communication with the Serbian about his wrist.

However, as for Murray, he is “very very doubtful” as he continues to recover from his right knee inflammation. The game against the Cavs would be his fifth straight out of the lineup if he does not play. On a positive note, Murray had a good day in the gym yesterday and might be closer to a return. In addition to Murray, the team will miss the services of Zeke Nnaji (thigh) and Vlatko Cancar (left knee).

On the other side of the court, the Cavaliers will be without Dean Wade (knee) and Ty Jerome (ankle), while Isaac Okoro (right toe soreness), Craig Porter (illness), and Caris LeVert (wrist) are all listed as day-to-day.

Denver Nuggets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: Predicted starting lineup

In the standings, both the Nuggets and Cavaliers are perched at the desirable third spot in their respective conferences. However, Denver has more wins than Cleveland. The Denver Nuggets came out of the All-Star break with all guns blazing, going 15-2 before stumbling momentarily with two straight losses against the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves. The Nuggets are expected to start the game with Reggie Jackson, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Jokic.

The Cavaliers have been playing inconsistent basketball recently, courtesy of their All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell’s back-to-back knee and nose injuries. However, they bounced back with a 117-114 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday in a game that also marked the return of Mitchell to the lineup. Now, they will be looking to complete a clean sweep against Denver tonight and extend their winning streak to two. They are expected to open the game with Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Max Strus, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen.
