The race for the first seed in the Western Conference is as competitive as it could get, with four teams separated by just a single win. Of course, the reigning champions Denver Nuggets are one of those teams. They currently occupy the 4th spot in the Western Conference standings, with 36 wins from 54 games. The Nuggets have continued their last season’s stellar form, which saw them clinch their first title in franchise history.

The Nuggets face the Sacramento Kings in their next match. However, Denver could be forced to play the match without Jamal Murray and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, as they recover from nagging injuries.

Jamal Murray and KCP listed as doubtful for tonight’s game

The game between the Nuggets and the Kings is scheduled to tip-off by 9:00 PM, Eastern Time at the Ball Arena in Denver. The game promises to be an enthralling affair, as the fourth-seeded Nuggets take on the seventh-seeded Kings. Both teams would look to get the better of each other. However, the Nuggets go into the game short-handed, as they could be without Jamal Murray and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Murray suffered an injury to his tibia against the Bucks, while KCP strained his hamstring in the same match. Denver has listed both as doubtful for tonight’s game against the Kings.

Apart from Murray and KCP, the Nuggets have also ruled out Hunter Tyson for tonight’s game because of a finger injury. Slovenian forward, Vlatko Čančar remains sidelined indefinitely after undergoing left knee surgery. The Kings also have a few injury concerns of their own. Sasha Vezenkov suffered a grade 3 ankle sprain, which will probably sideline him for at least 4-6 weeks. Chris Duarte also remains sidelined because of an ankle injury.

Predicted Lineups: Denver Nuggets vs Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings would aim to bounce back after they suffered their 22nd defeat of the season at the hands of the OKC Thunder. The Kings have established themselves as one of the best teams in a fiercely competitive Western Conference. However, they need to beat the best in order to become the best, and that starts tomorrow against the Nuggets. They could begin the game with De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, Keegan Murray, Harrison Barnes, and Domantas Sabonis.

The Nuggets go into the game on the back of two consecutive defeats. Moreover, they would also be without Jamal Murray and KCP. It would be an uphill battle for Denver to win this game, but they still have Nikola Jokić in their ranks. He could single-handedly will the Nuggets to a victory. The Nuggets could start the game with Reggie Jackson, Peyton Watson, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Jokić.
