The Sacramento Kings were one of the top three teams in the Western Conference last year. This year, the team is somewhere in the middle when it comes to their performance as a squad. But a lot of credit goes to their coaching, but mainly to their star point guard, De’Aaron Fox.
A recent claim by a Warriors insider had NBA legend and icon Allen Iverson being compared to Fox. While some of you may agree with it, there may be a good chance that a lot of fans may not.

The Sacramento Kings have a 9-6 overall record so far this season. But their All-Star point guard, De’Aaron Fox, has been having one of his best years in the league with the numbers he has been putting up.
Fox’s antics on the court have often garnered a lot of media attention. But for him to be compared to Allen Iverson is something that has happened for the first time. That too by a Warriors insider.

According to NBC’s Monte Poole, “De’Aaron Fox, I believe, will be better as a basketball player than Allen Iverson.”
The claim made by Monte Poole is a big one, given the type of player Allen Iverson was. One of the shortest players to rise to stardom, Iverson was never afraid of anyone and would often charge right into the paint against other bigs.
While Fox and Iverson may have some similarities in their game, there are still some areas where the two players are nowhere close to each other. However, the claim states that Fox will be a better player than AI.
A brief comparison between the two
Let’s break down the numbers put up by both players. Now in his seventh year in the NBA, De’Aaron Fox has been putting up All-Star-level numbers once again, leading his team in scoring.

But by his fourth year in the league, Fox was averaging 25.2 PPG along with 7.2 APG as well. Impressive numbers from a player who was given the keys to the team early in his career.
Allen Iverson, on the other hand, exploded by his fourth year in the NBA. He averaged 28.4 PPG along with 4.7 APG and 3.8 RPG that season. And since then, his point-production only went up.
Not to mention the level of icon that Iverson was around the league. But that is something Poole did differentiate. Yet, he was adamant that Fox may go on to be a better player than AI in the future.
