But the blame does not go solely on Lillard as the front office failed to surround their star with a good supporting cast. Which led to Lillard?s request for a trade to Miami.

Now, Lillard has been traded to a place he did not ask for and has teamed up with Giannis Antetokounmpo. But why didn?t the Blazers front office trade Lillard where he wanted to go? Well, the reason finally comes to light.

For 11 straight seasons, Damian Lillard gave it his all to the Portland Trail Blazers. But when he did not want to be part of a rebuilding team, the seven-time All-Star ended up requesting a trade.

According to Lillards, he was informed that the front office would request his wishes and trade him to wherever he wanted to go. Unfortunately, the entire NBA world knows that did not happen and Lillard was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks instead.

Now, days after teaming up with Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee, the real reason why Lillard wasn?t traded to Miami comes forward. In the past few days, Lillard has expressed his displeasure with the Blazers front office.

According to radio host Ben Maller, the reason why the Blazers front office did not fulfill Lillard?s request to be traded to the Miami Heat may have been something that involved his agent.

?From what I’ve gathered, Portland was prepared to send Damian Lillard to Miami, and then his agent gave comments to the media that rubbed people the wrong way in Portland, so they pivoted.?

Is the Milwaukee trade a boon or a bane?

After requesting a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard, nor his agent said anything that would land them in trouble. Instead, the only thing that was repeated constantly was that Lillard wanted to go to Miami.
