One of the most difficult jobs in the NBA world is to make an all-time list. As the history of the league expands over 75 years, its hard to please every fan. Especially the fan base of active players like Stephen Curry and LeBron James. Despite the difficulty, a 73-year-old NBA legend recently dropped a controversial top 10 list, which triggered a few. Unimpressed by the legend’s all-time list, a former NBA star retaliated with his own top 10 all-time list.
A few days ago, NBA legend Julius Erving, fondly known as Dr. J, was featured in an interview and discussed various affairs about the game. However, the Philadelphia 76ers legend’s top-10 all-time list triggered a controversy in the NBA world. Fans went ballistic on social media as the list lacked current superstars of the game. Although Dr. J clarified that he mentioned the players who had already retired, a few players expressed their displeasure.

Legend Julius Erving’s list featured Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, and seven other stars from the 20th century. But, not a single player from the 21st century. In response to that, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas took to his podcast show and roasted the legend. He even criticized the legend for not following the NBA. He said, “He probably didn’t watch the game since what 90 fu**ing three.”

Moreover, featuring alongside his fellow hosts in his Gil’s Arena, he went on to retaliate with his own version of a top 10 all-time players list. Initially, he picked five players from Dr. J‘s list and added his own picks. He selected Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Magic Johnson from the list. Arenas then added his picks for the all-time best. He chose Tim Duncan, Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Stephen Curry from the 21st century.
Apart from this, Dr. J takes several other controversial takes during his recent interview, especially on Kevin Durant.
