In the fourth quarter of the game, The Warriors were struggling to sustain their point lead over the Rockets. It was at this moment that Curry chose to unleash his power. With four straight back-to-back threes, Steph single-handedly increased the one-point lead to 11 points. after the last 3, where he absolutely cooked Dillion Brooks, Steph turned to the cameras to recreate the iconic Kevin McCallister’s shocked look from Home Alone. Just watch.
Speaking on it, The Golden Boy shared, “You surprise yourself — not that the move [I] put together but that it was in that moment on top of the three 3’s that I already hit.” He added, “I’m just having fun out there and there’s a good flow … you have that reaction because there’s a sense of joy and accomplishment. There’s nothing choreographed, as awkward and hilarious as it is.”
Chef Steph’s performances this season
The Warriors had a shaky start to this season with a 108-104 loss against the Phoenix Suns. In the next game against the Sacramento Kings, Steph Curry showed the crowd why he was the best as he put up 41 points to give the team a 122-114 win. Since then, the Warriors have been on a roll, stacking victory after victory and fully annihilating their opponents.
Curry has also been setting a few records of his own. Right now, he is the only player to average at least 30 points through his first eight games of a season at age 35 or older in NBA history. He is currently averaging 30.9 points with 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists. He averages 53.0% shooting from the field, 47.5% from 3, and 91.3% from the free throw line.
This is also the third time Curry has averaged 30 points on 50-45-90 shooting splits through his first eight games in a season, which is a feat no other NBA player has done. Additionally, Curry has been leading the Warriors in scoring in all eight games which is the longest streak to begin a season by a player of 35 years or older.
Praises galore for Curry
With all these records under his belt, Curry continues to wow the fans just like he has been doing since his debut. Speaking on him, Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr, said, “It’s amazing to watch him. He looks better than ever at 35. He puts the work in every summer and keeps looking for ways to get better. … There’s a reason he is Steph Curry.”
The team, and the other half of ‘The Splash Brothers’, Klay Thompson also heaped praise saying, “He is one of the hardest workers to play the game. The sky is the limit. He might change the narrative of what it looks like to be elite till you’re 40. LeBron is doing the same and Steph is following suit.” Draymond Green also added, “You sit back in awe and just appreciate it. We had that back-to-back in Houston and New Orleans and he took over both of those games.”

Despite the praise, the ever-humble Stephen is quick to point out his teammates’ efforts as well, especially Chris Paul. “Our bench unit is way better than our starting unit right now, in terms of plus-minus, and Chris is a big reason why. The lead is maintaining or building, or even they’ve come back a couple of times and got us back in it.”
Speaking on their improved defense this season, he pointed out, “It helps you become a better team because you can withstand the [opponent’s] energy. It gives everybody confidence that [I] don’t have to do anything miraculous, we can just go hoop and get a win. Which, stats and all that aside, that’s all you’re thinking about.”
