Sabrina Ionescu had a record-breaking performance in the 20203 WNBA 3-point Contest. It garnered attention from fans all over the globe. During the contest’s final round, the 25-year-old set a new all-time record in both the NBA and WNBA. Her 37 points in the 40-point format were inevitable to garner attention from the king of three, Stephen Curry. Curry has 2 of the NBA’s 3-Point Contests in his bag (2015 and 2021). In his 2021 victory, Curry achieved his best with 31 points in a single round within the 40-point format. His longest streak in a contest is 13 consecutive shots.
Now, inspired by Ionescu’s accomplishment, Curry has set a new objective for himself. Having already achieved success in golf, he is eager to settle the score with Ionescu on the basketball court.

It is not a usual sight to have Curry dethroned of his record. This is probably because the 4-time champion has set some of the most unexpected records in the NBA. Coming from?his recent Golf success, it is sure that Curry definitely excels at what he puts his mind to.
In an interview with ESPN, Curry was asked what he would prefer more – winning a golf tournament or a 3-point contest. Curry automatically was reminded of Ionescu’s feat. He responded, “Now, I gotta go after Sabrina’s record.”
He added, “I’ve got something to shoot for now that she went crazy with the 37 points in their All-Star Weekend. We gotta settle that one for sure.”
As the interview projected a potential match-off against the two elite three-point shooters, Sabrina came quick with her accepting remarks.

Being an avid Steph Curry follower, Sabrina is a fierce competitor herself. A few hours after winning the 3-point title, she challenged Steph to a shootout.
