The 22-year-old Power Forward for the Charlotte Hornets is indeed going through difficult times. Kai Jones of the Bahamas initially wanted to pursue his career on the long jump. When he was 15, he played organized basketball for the first time in high school. He then never had to look back.

The New York Knicks picked the 6’11, in the 19th overall draft in 2021, and traded him to his current team, the Hornets. However, Jones acts weirdly on social media these days. His teammates have reportedly unfollowed him after a certain incident.

Netizens and Hornets fans believe that Jones has been acting differently on social media these days. His background walls were scribbled with strokes of crayons, as seen in a recent Instagram live. After that, people started guessing that his mental health was taking a toll. One day, he randomly compared himself with Basketball Legends like LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal. He went further and voted himself above them. No wonder he was subjected to trolls all over the Internet.

Things took a different turn when he started publicly criticizing his teammates. Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Jones requested a trade. The Hornets refused to comment on this matter. He further did not join the team’s practice, adding more to his exit rumors. The newly joined 32-year-old from the Phoenix Suns, Terrence Ross, openly criticized Jones, following the latter’s erratic behavior.

The following conversation took place between the Hornets stars. Terrence commented, “Is he all there, mentally?” Kai Jones replied, “I’m the greatest of all time check my highlights.” Ross gave back, “So no”.? Is Jones making fun of himself with all this?

Jones began his criticizing campaign by calling out his teammates Mark Williams and Nick Richards.
