The Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard requested a trade on July 1st after spending 11 years with the team. Even though Dame has solidified his name as one of the most clutch players of all time, he has been unable to win a championship in his career. After spending his entire career in Portland, Dame finally took the tough call and expressed his desire to play alongside Jimmy Butler in Miami.

Since his trade request, there have been many speculations regarding Logo Lillard?s trade. Analysts have thrown big names like Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro into the mix for the Heat to acquire the 7-time All-Star. Since Pat Riley has not made an acceptable offer to the Blazers, analysts have been talking about possible destinations for Lillard other than South Beach.

Apart from Miami Heat, there were rumors about Dame?s trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves to form a new Big 3 with rising star Anthony Edwards and Three Time DPOY Rudy Gobert. This trade would mean that the 3-Time All-Star Karl Anthony Towns would have to suit up for the Trail Blazers. While the fans were drooling over the possibility of watching Ant and Dame play on the same team, these rumors were quickly put to rest by the Trail Blazers.

Journalist Aaron J. Fentress tweeted, ?The Portland Trail Blazers have no interest in KAT, and Damian Lillard has no interest in playing in Minnesota.? shutting down the trade rumors. Even though KAT is an elite player and bagged a Supermax extension with the Timberwolves last year, he has not had much impact in the playoffs. So, Portland probably does not think Towns is the right player to replace their current franchise player.

Miami Heat wants Damian Lillard but on their terms

With Minnesota out of the picture, Miami is cooking up multi-team trade scenarios to acquire Dame D.O.L.L.A. The problem for Portland is that Pat Riley does not want to let go of his rising star Tyler Herro, who signed a 4 year $120 million deal with the Heat last year. Herro is a former Sixth Man of the Year and can shoot lights out in pressure moments. With a very high ceiling, Riley sees the star potential in Herro and is looking for a trade package that does not involve him.

With 2 NBA finals appearances in 4 years, Miami is probably just one piece away from holding the Larry O?Brien trophy. Damian Lillard will be a perfect addition to the team and can be the missing piece for the Heat. If Pat Riley pulls off the Dame trade while keeping their core of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro in South Beach, Heat will instantly become one of the most dangerous teams in the league.
