With less than a week left for the trade deadline, the teams are looking to close in on their supposed targets. And the team that is particularly in the midst of most trade rumors is the Dallas Mavericks. They have been rumored to be in need of a strong forward to pair up with Luka Doncic and reduce the load of their cornerstone. As the Slovenian Sensation has been showing his individual brilliance in every game, some valuable additions to Dallas could transform them into a championship-contending team.
According to Yahoo Sports’ senior writer Jack Fisher, the two forwards whom the Big D is actively pursuing are Andrew Wiggins from the Golden State Warriors and Jerami Grant from the Portland Trail Blazers. The former NBA champion, Wiggins, will be a great addition to the Mavs as he brings in a combination of offensive and defensive skills.
His defensive capabilities are what make him an attractive option for Dallas as he has been averaging 4.2 rebounds per game and might end their struggle on that end. However, his attacking prowess is an added bonus for the Mavericks as he will provide Doncic with some valuable support.

The other name surfacing in the Mavericks trade discussion, Jerami Grant, has ability to score effectively, defend numerous positions, and contribute to the scoreboard. All of this matches the Mavericks’ requirements. With his 6-foot-9 stature, he would be a valuable asset on the wing for the Mavs and provide a new dimension of defense while adding depth to their squad. However, apart from them, are there any other targets the Mavericks are eyeing actively?

Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings target Kyle Kuzma
Andrew Wiggins and Jeramy Grant are the primary targets of the Mavericks. However, according to rumors, they have shown interest in the Washington Wizards’ star forward, Kyle Kuzma. This demonstrates the Big D’s willingness to have an extensive search and assess numerous players who can provide different strengths to their roster. However, not only the Mavericks but even the Sacramento Kings have been linked with the 28-year-old forward.
This supposed trade rivalry between the two franchises adds extra intrigue to this trade discussion, as it creates a competitive scenario between the two teams. However, the Kings are not as active in pursuit of a roster upgrade as the Mavericks due to which Dallas fans are eagerly awaiting the conclusion of these trade speculations, hoping that their team will acquire some assets and solidify their place as the title contenders in the difficult Western Conference.
