LeBron James is currently one of the oldest players in the NBA. He is playing his 21st season in the NBA and is still dominating the sport like he did in his early ages. Due to that, many rookie players want to show off their skills against him and prove that they are better than the best player in the league. One of those rookies is the 22-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves star, Anthony Edwards. He has been performing exceptionally well and has been compared to the likes of the legendary Michael Jordan.
In an interview with Complex, when they asked him about the player he would want to dominate, Edwards spoke about something that he wants to do on the court to the veteran.

During the conversation, Edwards was asked about the player who is left in the NBA and he feels like he needs to get this person and “cook him”. Responding to that, Edwards said, “Everbody for real. I always tried to do that versus LeBron but it never goes as planned because they double-team me. So, I always try to like cook LeBron ’cause I know he’s the best player in the league right now.”
He further added by saying, “He’s been the best player for a long time, so think that’s the main person I try to cook, him or KD. But they never guard me one-on-one so..” ANT has even been compared to the GOAT of the NBA, Michael Jordan. displayed humility and a clear recognition of the wide gap between his present ability level and Michael Jordan’s legendary excellence.
The comparisons between the two players began due to an unknown NBA scout who dubbed Edwards as “the next Michael Jordan.” Patrick Beverley of the Philadelphia 76ers joined the commotion, boldly declaring that Edwards “has a chance to be Michael Jordan.” Despite the positive feedback, Edwards remained grounded, realizing the magnitude of being compared to the basketball legend. However, when questioned about the possibility of Jordan guarding him in today’s NBA, Edwards quickly said, “Hell nah. No.”

Anthony Edwards has had an exceptional season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He averaged 24.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 19 games, displaying an offensive firepower and defensive prowess similar to Jordan’s playing style. Due to his defensive skills being paired up with colleagues such as Rudy Gobert, he has been able to drive the Timberwolves to the league’s highest defensive rating of 106.8.
