The Oklahoma City Thunder are facing the Chicago Bulls in a blockbuster clash tonight. If they win tonight they will mark their sixth consecutive win in this season. Out of those victories, one came against the Spurs in the NBA In-Season tournament. Shortly after, they thrashed the Portland Trail Blazers in their previous match by a score of 91-134 and it’s all because of their young guns.

The OKC Thunder’s youth brigade is making quite the news, and it’s for their off-court efforts. While normally making headlines with their outstanding record, this time it was for their support towards the former Thunder star and the king of the triple-double Russell Westbrook.

Russell Westbrook’s team, the Clippers, were in a bit of a rut. They lost six games in a row but now are back to winning ways all of a sudden. Legion Hoops’ X handle took a dig at Westbrook following that. They wrote that the Clippers are 2-0 after moving Russell Westbrook to the bench.

JD Jackson opposed the above tweet from the Hoops and defended Westbrook. He reminded them that Westbrook is a future first Ballot Hall of Famer. Jackson provided some stats to prove his point. He presented Westbrook’s average this year, which comes down to 23 ppg, 7 rpg, 7 asp, 1.4 bpg, and 1.2 spg. He did not fail to mention the sacrifice made by ‘Beastbrook’ for his team. Russell came off the bench and did not start, just to make room for James Harden on the starting line-up.

This was reshared by the X account of ‘PlayoffShai’ as Jackson’s post was liked by OKC Thunder youngsters such as Chet Holmgren, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, and Josh Giddey. Admiration for their franchise’s former star? Perhaps. But it’s safe to say the two young guns are aiming to replicate some of Westbrook’s OKC form of the past with his old teammates.
