With more than a month before the start of the preseason, numerous NBA stars have indulged themselves in off-season fun activities. Stephen Curry certainly falls under that list, as a recent clip of him showcasing his volleyball skills won the hearts of millions. In the video, he credited Sonya Curry for influencing his gameplay.
He put his impeccable volleyball prowess on display for his 54 million fans. The 35-year-old credited his mother amongst a few others for his in-game qualities.
Why did Stephen Curry credit his mother?

During his time off the court, Stephen was allowing himself to put his hands on the other sports. After his golf expertise, his volleyball prowess became public from his Instagram story. With a setter on his team, the Golden State Warriors star was playing beach volleyball.
He posted a short clip of him spiking the volleyball on a beach. His spikes lacked the cutting edge, contrary to his three-pointers, but the 9-time All-Star was clearly enjoying his time out there. He uploaded the story with a caption of “Channeling my” and mentioned the family members and relatives who were associated with the game.
The names included his mother Sonya and his sister Sydel Curry-Lee amongst a few other relatives. He wanted to acknowledge them for their qualities and skills in volleyball while showcasing his own. The influence of volleyball on his family is dominant, especially among the females. This may help write the next chapter.
The making of a future volleyball star

In one of his previous interviews, Stephen once talked about his daughter Riley Curry’s love for volleyball. Talking about it, he mentioned, “She’s super into volleyball right now”.
He discussed her passion for the game and how much she was dedicated to the craft. “She’s found something she loves,” he said before adding, “She loves to work at it”. With her grandmother and her aunt by her side to guide her in her journey, the future looks bright for Riley.
